Manual Cinema is a collaborative performance group created by puppeteers/graphic artists Julia Miller, Drew Dir, and Sarah Fornace with musician/composers Kyle Vegter and Ben Kauffman.

We came together for the first time to create The Ballad of Lula del Ray, a project that combines cinematic shadow puppetry with an equally full and moving musical score that creates an immersive storytelling experience. We realized we had something pretty awesome on our hands, and decided to continue the work developing our process and challenging ourselves with new and bigger things.

We are interested in bringing our work to the people. We like to play in bars, film screenings, art shows, rock shows,  puppet shows and Birthday parties.
